The relocation of Dobson no. 8 to Belarus aims at assisting the country to implement its project proposal entitled “Preparing and realizing intercomparison sessions of three instruments engineered and currently operated at NOMREC BSU to monitor total ozone and UV radiation in the Republic of Belarus”.

A second-hand Dobson instrument (No 92) will be transported and installed at the National Metrological Agency of Burkina Faso for monitoring and understanding the long-term changes in the ozone layer particularly in the Sahelian region of Africa and for ensuring quality of total ozone data recording.

This regional project involves purchasing four equipment for measuring solar UV-B radiation and training operators on the use of solarimeter and management of datalogging system. The project aims at acquisition of reliable data and information on solar UV-B radiation in Central America and the Caribbean.
