Yiwei Zou is passionate about environmental protection. She studied International Law and Environmental Law during her undergraduate period at the China University of Political Science and Law. In addition, while participating in a master’s program offered by Peking University and Lund University in China, she analysed the legal effect of international environmental conventions on environmental projects. After graduating in 2020, Yiwei joined the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China, working on civil and commercial cases and witnessing the development of the concept of environmental justice and contributing to its application. 

She is especially interested in working in the field of ozone layer protection, particularly in promoting enforcement of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

She has BA for both English and Law, and a Chinese Legal Professional Qualification Certificate. She received her American Language Program Certificate from Columbia University in the City of New York, and obtained her master’s degree in Law from Peking University, China.
